Alder is the tree of the god Bran. It's a very important tree in Celtic spirituality. It was a common wood for the making of shields. Whistles made from alder are said to summon the winds and good water spirits. In the Celtic Ogham alphabet alder represents 'Fearn'. It is the birth tree for March 18th - April 14th.
 
This alder amulet is 3 inches long & is handmade from found wood from Salisbury, Wiltshire, and comes with a handwritten note from the artist.
